The prenatal massage shares many of the goals of regular massage – to relax tense muscles, ease sore spot, improve circulation and mobility and just make you feel good.
All depending on how far along you are, if you can lay on your back or not, I will design the massage to fit you. To make sure you are comfortable on your side I will place pillows and towels to conform to your body.
This massage is known to:
• Lower anxiety and decrease back and leg pain
• Improve sleep and overall mood
• Decrease levels of the stress hormone norepinephrine
• Increase the level of “feel-good” hormone serotonin and dopamine
Due to circulatory changes in pregnant women, very light strokes are used. Because some pregnant women are at risk of blood clots in the lower legs, deep tissue massage will be avoided in those areas.
This massage will last 30 - 90 minutes
